The Sensual and Sovereign Spotlight is a curated digital series that amplifies the voices and work of Black women in wellness, spiritual healing, and sustainable creativity. Created by multidisciplinary artist and curator Dasia Hood, this spotlight is a tribute to women who are transforming their communities and their lives through sacred, sovereign practices.

Whether through holistic wellness, ancestral healing arts, sacred sensuality, or sustainable agriculture, each woman featured in the Sensual and Sovereign Spotlight embodies a powerful intersection of purpose, creativity, and pleasure.

What is the Sensual and Sovereign Spotlight?

The Sensual and Sovereign Spotlight is an invitation-only platform that highlights Black women entrepreneurs and creatives working at the intersection of healing, culture, and sustainability. Each spotlighted woman brings a unique offering to the world, rooted in ancestral healing, tantra, spiritual protection, or land stewardship.

This series was created to shine light on women whose work is deeply aligned, often unrecognized, and powerfully transformative.

Why Sensual and Sovereign?

To be sensual is to be present. Sensual souls feel deeply, to live with intention, and to trust the wisdom of the body.
To be sovereign is to move with clarity. Sovereign spirits choose their path, build from within, and lead from a place of inner truth.

These are the qualities embodied by the women featured in this series. They are herbalists, artists, healers, earth-workers, and spiritual guides. Their practices support individual and collective liberation through rest, rhythm, ritual, embodiment, and care.

WHO IS FEATURED

The spotlight is not open to public submissions. Each feature is carefully curated and shared with intention. If someone is part of the Sensual and Sovereign Spotlight, they were personally invited by Dasia to share their story.

This series highlights Black women whose work centers:

  • Holistic wellness and intuitive healing

  • Sacred sensuality, adornment, body art, and embodiment practices

  • Creative rituals and artistic expression

  • Sustainable agriculture, herbalism, and environmental care

  • Holistic business ownership and legacy building

The spotlight invites you to slow down, witness, and support the work of women who are creating impact through alignment and care.
